When god created the flat and softly formed peak of the Plattenkogel, he must have thought of an outdoor deck.

You can look down from an alpine summit and see the Salzach Valley roll out in front of you in one direction, and then turn around and see the Ziller Valley.
The Plattenkogel peak was designated as a nationally designated area in 1933 and is one of the oldest Natural Monuments in Salzburg.
Directions: Via the Gerlos Alpenstraße you will get to Hochkrimml. From Hochkrimml (1.640m above sealevel) to Silberleiten and along alpine pastures to the Gletscherblickalm and Breitscharte. From there on a small path to the peak of the Plattenkogel (2.040m above sealevel).

Directions: Via the Gerlos Alpenstraße you will get to Schönmoosalm Hotel. From Schönmoosalm (1.430m above sealevel) on a small, steep path to the Breitscharte. From there on a small path alonge alpine meadows to the peak of the Plattenkogel (2.040m above sealevel).
