High valley of the Venediger mountain range

Due to its gentle gradients and its length, the Krimmler Achental is particularly suitable for exploring by mountain bike. From Krimml, a section leads along the Gerlos-Alpenstraße to the “Krimmler Tauernweg” turn-off (note: unlit tunnel).

If you don't want to climb the three steps of the Krimmler Wasserfälle with muscle power, you can use the Nationalparktaxi, with which you can also have your bike transported comfortably to the top step or to the Krimmler Tauernhaus (pre-registration with the Geisler family in the Krimmler Tauernhaus is essential! ). At the entrance to the Krimmler Achental you can expect an impressive mountain panorama and alpine pastures and lush pastures that end below the Krimmler Kees. The distance to the end of the valley under the mighty Dreiherrenspitze is approx. 20 km. The Krimmler Tauernhaus is located approx. 6 km before the end of the valley.
